as a Dancer...
I'm always led by my heart. Since the beginning, I have been driven by the act of expression. As a kid, I struggled with a speech impediment caused by childhood trauma. My stutter, which caused communicating to be extremely frustrating, led me to find dance so therapeutic. I developed much of my dancing through that very frustration, channeling my emotions in to motions and I realized that intention in performance is a superpower. Because of this, I am now a huge advocate for the quality of movement through textures and intentions and using dance to tell a story. Professionally, I strive for authentic expression because I know when i'm an audience member I'm usually drawn to the performers who move and emote from that same place. It's moments of feeling so in tuned in your body with intent, feeling free in your conviction, vulnerable and powerful that others can be inspired by it. Regardless of genre or stage, movement is a radical therapy.
